Wall St opens lower on downbeat earnings, rate jitters

(Reuters) – U.S. stock indexes opened lower on Thursday as disappointing results from Tesla (NASDAQ:), AT&T (NYSE:) and some regional banks dented investor sentiment already soured by prospects of further U.S. interest rate hikes.
The fell 156.41 points, or 0.46%, at the open to 33,740.60. The opened lower by 24.04 points, or 0.58%, at 4,130.48, while the dropped 118.15 points, or 0.97%, to 12,039.08 at the opening bell.
