U.K. stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 up 0.17% By Investing.com
Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the rose 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the were Prudential PLC (LON:), which rose 4.16% or 28.80 points to trade at 720.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:) added 3.34% or 88.00 points to end at 2,726.00 and Standard Chartered PLC (LON:) was up 2.08% or 16.20 points to 795.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:), which fell 6.12% or 9.15 points to trade at 140.35 at the close. EasyJet PLC (LON:) declined 3.51% or 17.60 points to end at 484.00 and Severn Trent PLC (LON:) was down 3.01% or 81.00 points to 2,609.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1072 to 754 and 637 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.68% or 18.40 to $2,671.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.22 to trade at $73.78 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.33, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 101.27.
