Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the declined 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the were Imperial Brands PLC (LON:), which rose 4.10% or 88.00 points to trade at 2,236.00 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:) added 2.14% or 4.10 points to end at 196.00 and Ashtead Group PLC (LON:) was up 1.35% or 76.00 points to 5,724.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vistry Group PLC (LON:), which fell 24.31% or 309.50 points to trade at 963.50 at the close. Anglo American PLC (LON:) declined 6.69% or 163.50 points to end at 2,281.50 and Antofagasta PLC (LON:) was down 5.15% or 102.50 points to 1,888.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1169 to 625 and 671 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.22% or 32.65 to $2,633.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.39% or 3.39 to hit $73.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.39% or 3.55 to trade at $77.38 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 102.31.
