BlackBerry chosen for Foxconn’s MIH EV platform integration

On Monday, Blackberry (NYSE:) (TSX:) revealed that they were selected by the Mobility in Harmony (MIH) consortium, led by Foxconn (TW:), for their expertise in providing software and services for upcoming electric vehicles.
The consortium’s electric vehicle (EV) platform is set to integrate BlackBerry’s QNX operating system for vehicles along with their automotive artificial intelligence platform IVY. This strategic collaboration aims to efficiently process and store data gathered from sensors installed in the vehicles.
MIH’s EV platform, codenamed Project X, specifically designed for Asian consumers, is scheduled for its grand debut in Japan by late 2023. Additionally, the consortium plans to introduce both six-seater and nine-seater vehicle platforms in the following years. All of these platforms are anticipated to integrate BlackBerry’s cutting-edge software solutions.
Shares of BB are up 5.79% in mid-day trading on Monday.
