Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the rose 0.56%, while the index gained 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the were Teleperformance SE (EPA:), which rose 3.81% or 5.75 points to trade at 156.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:) added 3.11% or 1.71 points to end at 56.67 and Legrand SA (EPA:) was up 2.09% or 1.90 points to 92.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sanofi SA (EPA:), which fell 1.15% or 1.09 points to trade at 93.93 at the close. Orange SA (EPA:) declined 0.98% or 0.10 points to end at 10.29 and Bouygues SA (EPA:) was down 0.86% or 0.26 points to 29.83.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rexel (EPA:) which rose 5.36% to 22.99, Teleperformance SE (EPA:) which was up 3.81% to settle at 156.70 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:) which gained 3.11% to close at 56.67.

The worst performers were Verallia (EPA:) which was down 6.03% to 33.68 in late trade, Altarea SCA (EPA:) which lost 3.39% to settle at 102.60 and Orpea SA (EPA:) which was down 2.93% to 1.77 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 263 to 260 and 96 ended unchanged.

Shares in Legrand SA (EPA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.09% or 1.90 to 92.88. Shares in Altarea SCA (EPA:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.39% or 3.60 to 102.60. Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:) fell to all time lows; losing 2.93% or 0.05 to 1.77.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.59% or 11.55 to $1,958.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.53% or 2.37 to hit $69.49 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.51% or 2.52 to trade at $74.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 102.77.
