Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the gained 0.61%, while the index gained 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the were Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:), which rose 2.10% or 0.58 points to trade at 28.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:) added 1.86% or 0.28 points to end at 15.43 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:) was up 1.76% or 0.96 points to 55.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:), which fell 1.78% or 9.70 points to trade at 535.10 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:) declined 1.59% or 2.96 points to end at 183.42 and Thales (EPA:) was down 0.82% or 1.15 points to 139.15.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (EPA:) which rose 4.56% to 128.40, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:) which was up 3.95% to settle at 3.00 and Verallia (EPA:) which gained 2.87% to close at 36.52.

The worst performers were Vallourec (EPA:) which was down 2.30% to 10.82 in late trade, Kering SA (EPA:) which lost 1.78% to settle at 535.10 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:) which was down 1.78% to 1.66 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 295 to 235 and 95 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.07% or 20.95 to $1,980.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $71.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.14 to trade at $75.72 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 102.94.
