Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 1.66%, while the index declined 2.86%, and the index lost 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the were Merck KGaA (ETR:), which rose 2.24% or 3.70 points to trade at 168.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) added 0.82% or 1.40 points to end at 171.50 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) was up 0.73% or 1.90 points to 263.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 8.53% or 0.80 points to trade at 8.54 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) declined 5.45% or 0.51 points to end at 8.88 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was down 4.83% or 1.74 points to 34.15.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) which rose 0.93% to 92.70, Rational AG (ETR:) which was up 0.58% to settle at 609.00 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which gained 0.24% to close at 33.60.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which was down 10.34% to 1.47 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:) which lost 6.77% to settle at 54.40 and Fraport AG (ETR:) which was down 5.86% to 42.23 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which rose 1.83% to 43.48, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which was up 0.52% to settle at 389.50 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which gained 0.24% to close at 33.60.
The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.83% to 34.15 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:) which lost 4.66% to settle at 15.55 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.63% to 12.57 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 504 to 170 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 0.73% or 1.90 to 263.00. Shares in Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.93% or 0.85 to 92.70. Shares in Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) fell to all time lows; losing 10.34% or 0.17 to 1.47.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 16.28% to 23.85.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.85% or 16.95 to $1,978.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.67% or 0.47 to hit $69.49 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.68 to trade at $75.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 102.82.
