India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.93%

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the gained 0.93% to hit a new all time high, while the index climbed 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the were Wipro Ltd (NS:), which rose 6.35% or 29.55 points to trade at 495.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:) added 4.52% or 10.10 points to end at 233.50 and HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) was up 3.07% or 47.35 points to 1,588.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:), which fell 3.55% or 22.65 points to trade at 614.95 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) declined 2.47% or 188.85 points to end at 7,472.20 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:) was down 1.20% or 19.85 points to 1,632.05.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:) which rose 6.25% to 494.55, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.90% to settle at 1,587.70 and Infosys Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.47% to close at 1,652.00.
The worst performers were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.34% to 7,476.50 in late trade, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.17% to settle at 1,632.35 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.66% to 3,542.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1108 to 1068 and 27 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1980 rose and 1831 declined, while 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wipro Ltd (NS:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.35% or 29.55 to 495.00. Shares in Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.52% or 10.10 to 233.50. Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) rose to all time highs; up 3.07% or 47.35 to 1,588.15. Shares in Wipro Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.25% or 29.10 to 494.55. Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.90% or 44.70 to 1,587.70. Shares in Infosys Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.47% or 39.80 to 1,652.00.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 5.23% to 13.78.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 5.15 to $2,056.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.70% or 0.51 to hit $72.28 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.50 to trade at $77.79 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.02% to 82.89, while EUR/INR fell 0.10% to 90.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 102.39.
